This stored value card is perfect for those who want a fashionable card but might otherwise have difficulty getting approved for a standard card. To use the card, cardholders will pay a one time activation fee and then add money through direct deposits, PayPal, check or money order. The card also provides discounts at some retailers, many of whom carry Baby Phat merchandise, and gives cardholders the chance to earn extra cash though a referral program. There are some drawbacks to the card, however, in that it does not report payments to credit bureaus, making it difficult to build credit. There are fees applied to every transaction up to $10 a month.
