Understanding Your U.S. Bank Options


U.S. Bank offers business owners several options for business credit cards. U.S. Bank offers business rewards cards of various types. U.S. Bank has formed a partnership with Ace Hardware stores to offer Ace reward points for one of their business cards. The Ace rewards are particularly attractive for those who own home improvement businesses or other companies that utilize hardware in the course of doing business. Other U.S. Bank business cards offer cash back rewards, travel rewards, gift cards and merchandise provided through selected vendors.

U.S. Bank offers seven different business credit cards. With all but one card, some type of reward program is provided.

  • The U.S. Bank FlexPerks Business Cash Rewards Visa Credit Card
  • The FlexPerks Business Cash Rewards card awards 3% points for each dollar spent on gas, cell phone bills and at office supply stores. The card awards a 1% point on dollars spent on all other purchases. The reward points never expire and there is no limit on the number of points that may be earned with this card.

    The FlexPerks Business Cash Rewards card is the best business card deal offered by U.S. Bank as there is no annual fee and an introductory interest rate of 0%. The introductory rate stays in effect for the first six to nine months. After the introductory period, the rate is raised to the range of 11.99% to 17.99%.

  • The U.S. Bank FlexPerks Business Travel Rewards Visa Credit Card
  • The FlexPerks Business Travel Rewards card provides FlexPoints as rewards. One FlexPoint is awarded for each $1 spent on the card. The FlexPoints may be applied to travel on any airline, or may be redeemed for gift cards and merchandise. The APR is between 11.99% and 17.99%, and there is no introductory APR. There is no annual fee for the card for the first year. After the first year, the annual fee is $55.

    For employee cards and additional cards, there is a $10 fee per card. FlexPoints expire five years from the date they were earned. However, there is no cap on the number of reward points that may be earned.

  • FlexPerks Business Select Rewards Visa Credit Card
  • The FlexPerks Business Select Rewards card charges no annual fee and the introductory rate is 0% for the first six to nine months. After the introductory period the APR is between 11.99% and 17.99%. One FlexPoint, redeemable for gift cards, merchandise and statement credit, is awarded for every $2 spent on the card.

    Reward points expire five years from the date earned and there is no limit on the number of reward points that may be earned.

  • The Visa Business Platinum Credit Card
  • The Visa Business Platinum card is the only card offered by U.S. Bank that does not provide reward points for use. The introductory rate is 0% and raises to between 9.99% and 17.99% after the first six to nine months. The card charges no annual fee.

  • SKYPASS Visa Business Credit Card
  • The SKYPASS Visa Business card awards one travel mile per dollar spent. If the travel rewards are redeemed on Korean Air, the card holder receives double point value. The annual fee for the card is $75 and the APR ranges between 12.99% and 19.99%. Reward points expire five years from the date earned and there is no cap on the number of reward points that may be earned.

  • Ace Rewards Visa Business Credit Card
  • The APR on the Ace Rewards Visa card is between 13.99% and 22.99% with no introductory rate. There is no annual fee for the card. Twenty-five dollars in Ace Rewards are earned for every 12,500 points earned on the card. The Ace Rewards are redeemable at any Ace Hardware store. No expirations or caps are placed on reward points.

  • Visa Business Charge Card
  • The Visa Business Charge Card charges the card holder no annual fee and there is no APR because the card must be paid in full each month. Cash rewards of 1% may be earned on office supply purchases, gas and cell phone bills. One-half percent is earned on all other purchases. There are no limits to the number of points that may be earned and points never expire. This card is available to those with less than perfect credit.
